Walther Linis, painter sculptor, restaurantor, illustrator, craftsman, violin maker and writer was born in Denmark, in September 2, 1930. Most of his artistic knowledge in painting is self-taught except for the sculpture. He did his studies and was trained at the Royal Danish Academy of sculpture where he attended for some years. He has done figurative and impressionist painting. He is dedicated to abstract painting, a technique he handles with skill. He lives in a privileged region (Lynby) where the light in summer is usually bright and Walther introduces in his works this special light. He has specialized in Danish motifs inspired by the ancient Vikings. He has a statue that is 4 meters tall and has kept it in his driveway, this statue draws the attention of the passers by. As well as a stone he called "the cornerstone of a thousand years." He made a replica of Odin's Viking god which is 15 centimeters tall copied from the original, found by a neighbor of Lejre (Lyndby) made in silver which measures 7 centimeters. The discovery of this statue, was published broadly in newspapers. The statue made by master Linis is in the Museum of Roskilde, where people can admire it. In 1953 he participated in the show of 54 sculptures displayed in the jury of artists in the building "Back Frais Building" in Copenhagen. Ea Movang, is a Danish painter and she has presented some exhibitions with Walther Linis. Among others some exhibitions in Roskilde and abroad. Some of Walther's sculptures can be seen exhibited in Copenhagen, Roskilde and Lyndby. In the Museum of Roskilde is a statue made by Master Linis exhibited of Odin of Lejre.
